Sorting outbound goods
Outbound sorting is aimed at sorting orders. The sorting can start after collecting a certain quantity of orders and picking the matching goods. By combining a large number of orders the efficiency of the total process is increased. This is because picking 1 SKU takes X number of seconds, however picking the same SKU takes much less time than twice X seconds. Sorting therefore makes it possible to pick efficiently and reduce the costs of the total picking process.
Possible picking errors are discovered during the automatic sorting process. As a result no incorrect items or numbers end up in the orders.
Sorting therefore implies a conclusive final inspection in the total picking process. This process sees to it that the final client receives what he had ordered, so that the perception of quality of the final client increases.
